To continue with our growth plans for 2024 and beyond we are searching for Commissioning Engineer Graduate to join our Professional Development Programme for our autumn 2024 intake, based in Peterborough for our @one Alliance.

The @one Alliance is a collaborative organisation of consultants and contractors working together to deliver more than half of Anglian Waters capital investment programme.

What will you be doing as our new Engineering Graduate?

As one of our new Engineering Graduates, you’ll be supported and guided from experienced engineers and learn to be an expert in your chosen discipline.

Working in collaboration with other disciplines to develop and detail appropriate solutions, you’ll adopt the principles of excellence in design based on the industry leading approaches practiced by the @one Alliance Delivery team.

You’ll be offered opportunities to gain the experience necessary to achieve chartered status in your chosen area such as site experience, commercial exposure and access to digital tools to improve the quality of engineering design.

Key responsibilities:

  • Contribute to development of solutions and suitable designs of Water/Wastewater Treatment Plants and/or sewerage/water systems that achieve the goals of Anglian Water in terms of customer, environment, and efficiency
  • Responsibility for consistently high-quality work and contributing to the overall effectiveness of the team whilst complying with POSWSH/POSWASTE
  • Collaborate with the design team to develop 3D models and solutions
  • Support the team in the drive towards excellence in Health & Safety, demonstrating applied knowledge & skills to produce safe designs to discharge obligation according to CDM Regulations, standards, and accepted codes of practice
  • Proactively and reactively champion the need to deliver technical excellence ensuring the importance is understood and implemented across projects
  • Maintain close links with other Engineers, Technical Managers and Operations to ensure smooth interfaces between disciplines, manage gaps/overlaps and share best practice to optimise performance

Possessing strong communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills to complement your proficiency in IT packages, you’ll relish solving complex engineering challenges and be motivated to learn and develop new ways of thinking.

About You

Qualifications

  • A degree in Process or Chemical Engineering
  • Successful candidates will need to be flexible and willing to spend time in other offices and sites. This is to gain a full understanding of new projects and different clients, which will provide fresh experiences and support your development.
  • Strong communication skills – both written and verbal are essential, and you must be able to work well within a team and independently. You will be self – motivated, flexible and reliable with good problem-solving skills.
  • You will also have a strong client service focus and excellent organisational skills with the ability to multi-task. Excellent computer skills and a good understanding of Microsoft Office are essential.
  • Candidates will also need to have a full UK driving license or have the ability to make their own way to our sites and offices.
