“What are you doing after you graduate?”

There it is, that question again. How many times, how many people have asked you this?

Let me make it easier for you – here’s what you can do next.

About the role

You’ll join National Gas on an 18 month programme, and after your initial induction you’ll complete three 6-month placements. Each in a different, but relevant area to give you a rounded skillset.

You’ll start within the Hydrogen Innovation team who are working on out of the box ideas of how Hydrogen will support powering the UK in the future. You will then complete two placements within another area of the business that could be across the UK:

  • Asset Engineering / Asset Management
  • Construction
  • Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
  • Project Management
  • Investment

With the contacts you’ll make and the skills you’ll learn in these areas, you’ll be able to make an educated decision which part of National Gas you’d like to continue your career in.

What you'll need

You’ll need a degree in a relevant area. It could be anything related to:

  • Engineering
  • Construction
  • Project Management
  • Quantity Surveying
  • Other STEM subjects

But this is by no means an exhaustive list.

You’ll also need to be a good communicator and be able to engage with people at every level. An interest in your subject area is key, but more important is your passion and drive to succeed.

We welcome all grads from diverse backgrounds as we know diverse minds bring new ideas and a different way of thinking. This role is based in Warwick, though you’ll be able to hybrid work too.

It’s not just a job you’re applying for, you’ll also receive a range of benefits that reward your great work. Your starting salary will be £33,154, together with a bonus scheme, a generous holiday allowance, as well as welcome payment.
