    What you can expect

Our 8-week Summer Internship is an investment in you and your career. It offers a unique opportunity to gain real-world experience, take on real responsibilities, and make a tangible impact. During your time with us, you’ll work alongside experienced professionals, network across the business, and develop valuable skills that will set you up for future success.

The Group Internal Audit Department (GIAD) plays a key role in helping NFU Mutual protect its assets, reputation and sustainability as well as achieve its long-term goals. How? By working closely with our colleagues to get a detailed understanding of their business area, review what could go wrong and assess the steps they have taken to manage those risks. It’s also about adding value - we work with teams across the business to recommend improvements and best practice, too.

This internship offers high visibility within the organisation, providing a unique chance to understand NFU Mutual’s key operations and processes. During the programme you will:

    • Learn about our organisation, what makes us unique in the insurance space and why we are a ‘great place to work’!
    • Gain first-hand experience in our Audit Department working on a real audit and contributing to our Departmental Objectives.
    • Working closely with colleagues, you’ll help evaluate business areas, provide insightful recommendations, and support teams in meeting their objectives and continuously improve.
    • You’ll have the opportunity to engage with key stakeholders, enhancing your ability to challenge, analyse, and communicate effectively.
    • Throughout your 8 weeks, you’ll receive guidance from a programme manager and a buddy, ensuring you feel supported.

By the end of the programme, you will have played an active role in completing audit projects and helping to improve the department. You’ll also get the opportunity to showcase your learnings and experience to members of the senior leadership team.

    Recruitment process

Our recruitment process consists of a few simple steps; a friendly introduction call with a member of our Talent Acquisition team and a skills-focused interview via Microsoft Teams. Successful completion of the programme may even lead to you being fast-tracked through our graduate programme application process for 2025, subject to availability and eligibility.

This vacancy may close early depending on application volumes, so we recommend getting your application in as soon as possible!
