Overview of the Department

Global Client Services (GCS) covers Client Services, Private Fund Services, Shareholder Services, Client Transitions, Client Reporting, New Business & Retention Services (a.k.a. RFP), Business Transformation, and CRM & Client Data Insights, and is involved in nearly every facet of the client life cycle. The GCS strategy is to build a global, scalable client service and content delivery platform to keep pace with the growth of the business, to drive better win and retention rates, provide timely and built-for-purpose client and regulatory reporting, and deliver a seamless client experience.

Global Client Services covers the Institutional and Wealth channels and offers client servicing, client reporting, client portal administration, RFP and business transformation, and strives to increase client retention and satisfaction by providing a seamless experience for our clients globally. With an in-market presence in the Americas, Europe and Asia Pacific regions, we have a global operating platform.

The intern will have the opportunity to:

  • Oversee day-to-day administrative and operational client queries and support the broader servicing team in doing the same,
  • Act as the contact point for Institutional and/or Wealth clients
  • Act as a liaison with the business partners across Nuveen, to leverage expertise and meet client expectations and deadlines.
  • Work on various projects

  • A 10-week summer program, where you will participate in a robust training curriculum, attend company functions, including speaker series, lunch-and-learns and social networking events that will offer the opportunity for career growth and personal development.
  • Ability to gain hands on experience as well as getting an overall feel for the firm/ industry by attending business meetings, delivering presentations, exploring business-specific tasks, contributing to projects and working closely with cross-functional groups
  • Exposure to Senior Business Leaders globally across Nuveen and TIAA
  • An option to secure a permanent role after graduation

What skills & competencies we require:

  • On track to attain at least a 2:1 or higher undergraduate degree (or equivalent). Preferably a major in finance, business mathematics, business administration or similar;
  • A desire to build a career in a client-facing role, you will need to be able to demonstrate the importance of building relationships;
  • Outstanding communication skills (both written and verbal);
  • Strong collaboration skills in a team environment;
  • A strategic thinker with potential to grasp investment decisions, as well as an entrepreneurial mind-set;
  • Strong competency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook);

Other eligibility criteria:

  • Students in their penultimate year graduating in 2025
  • Applicants who have the right to live and work in the country for where the internship is located
  • You must be able to work the internship dates of 24th June – 30th August 2024
