    Throughout 2023, OCU Group has been experiencing a sustained period of growth and expansion. This has created an opportunity for a Graduate Bid Engineer to join our team.

    This is the perfect opportunity for a recent graduate to learn all aspects of engineering through on the job training and experience.

    The role will be across multiple sectors and business units giving an excellent overview of the OCU Group as a whole, helping the successful candidate be guided in the right direction for their long-term career choices.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Site visits to develop and put together case studies of ongoing and past jobs with the various contract teams.
    • Assisting with bid management and technical writing where required to support the bid team for one off and framework tender events.
    • Potential secondment into a business unit to assist with site investigations and overall implementation of projects.
    • Ensuring systems, design information, procedures and quality systems are adhered to.
    • Assessing the potential risks of specific projects.
    • Communicating and liaising effectively with colleagues and architects, subcontractors, contracting engineers, consultants, co-workers, and clients.
    • Thinking both creatively and logically to resolve design and development issues.
    • Quality assurance, ensuring the customer requirements are clearly understood and that quality control mechanisms are in place that provide assurance that the asset and/or service delivers as designed/required.
    • Support the project delivery team, providing technical support.
    • Contribute to the accurate and efficient provision of daily site records and productivity reports weekly and monthly to the scheme manager.
    • Understand and utilise the appropriate digital tools to support the project.

    Skills and Experience

    • Have a flexible approach to work and the ability to adapt to change (you may be required to relocate and/or travel as part of the programme).
    • A team focus with the ability to communicate and build strong relationships with a wide variety of people at all levels.
    • A driven, self-motivated attitude, with the ability to work on your own initiative and influence decision making.
    • A minimum of a 2:2 BEng (Hons) or BSc (Hons) in Engineering.
    • A full, clean UK driving licence.
    • Proof of right to the work in UK.
