The Role

Join a fun and flexible workplace where you’ll enhance your skills and build a solid professional foundation. As a Context Linguistic Engineer Intern you will:

Work with a team of experts that designs, edits and maintains a taxonomy that produces 3 Trillion categorizations of web pages per month, in 30+ languages. You will be helping evaluate the quality and performance of our categorizations, working with a team of software engineers to develop tool sets for managing and testing categorizations, and optimizing team processes both internally and with third parties as part of an Agile organization.

• As part of a team, build and maintain a taxonomy of 700+ classification segments containing words in 30+ languages.
• Help develop the tools required, and set processes, to assist editors in maintaining and improving the accuracy of categories used in classifying texts.
• Work within a blended Agile team of developers and linguists to automate and accelerate text classification techniques and processes.
• Work with 3rd party contractors by providing training and ongoing weekly support.

Requirements

• A proven track record of academic excellence. Studies in in linguistics, language studies, Philosophy, computer science or similar preferable but not required.
•  A grasp of syntactic structures of multiple languages, with an ability to speak 2 or more languages to a high level being a bonus.
•  Excellent analytic skills. You take a data driven approach to problem solving.
•   An excellent communicator, able to work in a diverse team in a fast-changing environment.
