The intention is to provide an industrial placement for undergraduates studying business related subjects. During the placement there is the potential to work across areas of the commercial organisation. The actual areas are to be determined but would include two of the following: Sales, Customer Business Management and Pre-Sales.

The role

Following an initial induction process where the Intern will gain access to core business tools like and conduct mandatory training on Orange policies and procedures they will spend approximately 5 to 6 months working in two of three areas. This will be determined by the company.

During the period of the internship there will be training opportunities provided both face to face and online. These will cover areas including:

  • Sales Skills
  • Technical product training
  • Design thinking
  • Agile Methodology

Sales

The Intern would support various areas of the sales organisation and get the opportunity to shadow sales in customer meetings and interactions. Some of the activities that they will be asked to engage in are:

  • Research and identification of key and relevant tech trends in target market verticals
  • Assistance with identifying and organising customer engagement and awareness initiatives
  • Lunch and learns
  • Social media outreach
  • Strategic Value Proposition campaigns
  • Assistance with partner management programs and building of joint value propositions and Go-To-Market strategies
  • Input into Executive Summaries for bids
  • Support the collation and presentation of customer facing offers and participate in customer bid presentations

Customer Business Management

The intern would provide support to a Customer Business Unit Director, facilitate the effective management of contracts and product/service life cycle and support and act as the CBU Project Management Office function.

Key areas of engagement will be:

  • Contract Management Support: Assisting in managing contracts, including reviewing, summarizing, tracking changes, and maintaining a contract database.
  • Life Cycle Management Support: Supporting the Quote to Bill management of product/service life cycles, from service creation to decommissioning.
  • Data Analysis: Assisting in analysing data related to contract performance including the development of specific Power BI reports.
  • Administrative Tasks: Providing general administrative support to the CBU Director as needed, including scheduling Quarterly Business Reviews both internally and with Orange customers, maintaining up to date records.

Pre Sales / Pricing Analyst

As part of the pre-sales function, the Intern would also have the opportunity to participate in technical training on Orange products and services and support individual pre-sales solution directors on bid activities with major accounts.

  • Working with the head of UK & I pre-sales the Intern will support the pre-sales organisation and will support the local pricing analysts to;
  • Build price optimization models based on an analysis of variables including value to the customer, market research data, country and/or region specific pricing conditions, and competitor price.
  • Build models to assess the financial impact of various products
  • Investigate and recommend enhancements to existing pricing programs
  • Lead or participate in strategic pricing discussions with the management team
  • Lead or participate in specific pricing initiatives from investigation to implementation
