Key responsibilities

  • Inspection reports – review of inspection reports from offshore. A thorough review is required to ensure inspection data is correct.
  • Assistance with the upload of inspection reports into the integrity management database will also be required.
  • Workpack creation – develop workpacks for pressure vessels, pipework and structural topsides. This will include reviewing historic inspection reports to determine the locations required for inspection. It will also involve updating registers and drawings to reflect inspection requirements.
  • Isometric drawings – assist with the management of controlled drawings. This will include updating red-lined isometrics in AutoCAD and keeping the register up to date.
  • Contribute to the preparation of the Annual Integrity Report for the asset at the end of each year. This will include reviewing the years’ inspection data and collating anomaly information.
  • Assist with the review of anomalies and the completion of actions. This will require coordination with the client to ensure all anomalies are captured and that the database is updated to reflect the work done.
  • Capture changes in condition and operations offshore and feed into the integrity management database and inspection plan.
  • Assist with the maintenance of computer databases – ensure changes found during the inspection review are updated to the database registers. Ensure registers such as the P&ID, Isometric drawings, Inspection reports are up to date and contain accurate information.
  • Role has no financial accountability or control.
  • Routinely organising and reacting to vendor mobilisation to maintain a fast-changing Operational plan
  • Routinely reviewing inspection reports to determine where data is incorrect and highlighting concerns
  • Non routine workpacks out with normal inspection activity. Following workpack creation procedure and adapting standard templates and ensuring workpack is reviewed and approved by more senior engineers

Essential qualifications and skills

  • Preferred HNC/HND in an engineering discipline with appropriate experience
  • Ability to interpret inspection reports and engineering drawings
  • Basic understanding of the inspection techniques & degradation expected within the process plant.
  • Knowledge & previous use of integrity management databases.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD.
  • Computer literate in Microsoft Office Applications and other relevant software.
  • Self-motivated and enthusiastic when working as part of a team or on own initiative.
  • Ability to investigate and interpret data.
  • Ability to be responsive and open to changing circumstances.
  • Good communication & interpersonal skills.
