About the role

As part of our ‘Emerging Talent’ Graduate Programme you will have the opportunity to work with some of the Nation's Favourite biscuit brands including McVities, Jaffa, Penguin, Mini Cheddars, Jacob’s and Carr’s.

As a Commercial & Marketing Graduate, you will join a 2-year rotational programme where you will get in-depth experience across several areas within our commercial and marketing functions. The rotational placements will build commercial foresight through stretching entry level roles, supported by functional training and development.

Throughout the 2 years, you will develop understanding of sales and marketing through our customers, our brands and channels, you will also gain an understanding of how our Category, Shopper Marketing and Net Revenue Management (NRM) teams support our Commercial goals.

Rotations will include a selection of the following experiences:

Sales

Working in either our Grocery or Convenience & Impulse teams, a rotation into a Sales Executive role will be focused on developing our pladis portfolio with our customers. Our focus is to deliver the sales fundamentals for the business through working with our customers to enhance their business and grow sales. You will support in developing and delivering an annual strategic account and channel plan, manage P&L responsibility, as well as plan and implement promotional plans.

Marketing

A rotation as an Assistant Brand Manager will contribute fully to the delivery of one of our brand teams, with a high degree of influence and responsibility. This includes developing and implementing key brand initiatives such as product renovation development projects, product launches and social media campaigns, to deliver the overall revenue and profit delivery of a brand portfolio. You will develop, drive and implement the strategic marketing plan for the brand portfolio, ensuring both short and long-term financial targets are achieved.

Category

The role of the pladis Category Management team is to help our retail customers to grow the sales of snacking products as an overall category. This is achieved through the provision of industry-leading shopper, retailer and market insights that enable robust decision-making on product ranges, merchandising, business planning and promotions. In a rotation as a Graduate Category Development Manager, you will be accountable for developing and driving plans that deliver category growth, supported by the Senior Category Manager or Category Controller for the channel.

Shopper Marketing

In a rotation as a Shopper Marketing Graduate, you will support the design and implementation of cost effective, differentiated, and tailored shopper marketing campaigns. Working closely with Senior Shopper Marketing Manager and the wider commercial team to compete efficiently.

Net Revenue Management (NRM)

The NRM team are responsible for developing the Pack, Price and Promotional Strategy across all pladis brands, including Innovation, working across all channels and customers. The team are responsible for identifying a long-term commercial strategy which drives revenue and profit growth.

Cross functional opportunities

As part of your rotations, there may be an opportunity to do alternative cross-functional placements, including opportunities outside of our commercial functions. These could include Commercial Planning, Supply Chain, Commercialisation or Finance to name a few. All rotations will be supportive in developing rounded Commercial future talent.

Location and Salary

This role will be based at pladis’ global head office at the beautiful Chiswick Park, which comprises of 1.8 million sq ft of award-winning accommodation and over 45,000 sq ft of retail including the on-site Virgin Active gym, restaurants, convenience stores and an ever-changing array of pop-up traders and street-food vendors.

This role is an agile 3,2 working pattern with 3 days in the office and 2 days from home.

There is limited parking at Chiswick Park, which is available on a first come first served basis, however the business park is well-connected via public transport links and we encourage colleagues to use these.

As part of our emerging talent programme you will need to be flexible to travel to other sites and to customers across the UK for both the role and training.

The starting salary is £32,000 with a joining bonus equivalent to one month's base salary to help you prepare for the scheme, which includes moving and other expenses. This would need to be repaid should you decide to leave within 12 months of the programme.

  • Complete initial screening to give us more information on yourself and motivation for joining pladis.
  • After this is reviewed you will be invited to complete some online assessments.
  • The next stage following successful completion of the assessments will be a video interview, to allow us to find out more about you and your interest in pladis’ Emerging Talent Graduate Programme.
  • Finally, if successful, you will be invited to the final stage of the recruitment process which is to deliver a presentation. This will be held in person at Chiswick Park during the last 2 weeks of February.
