    Ponda is a biomaterials company committed to regenerating the world's damaged wetlands through technologies that bring value to wetland-based crops. Our flagship product, BioPuff, is a next-generation insulation material made from Typha latifolia (bulrushes), a plant cultivated using paludiculture—a sustainable form of marsh farming. This innovative approach not only produces a lightweight and warm insulation but also contributes to carbon sequestration, biodiversity enhancement, and climate resilience.

    The role

    We're looking for a driven, hands-on Engineering Intern to join our team and support the development of our pioneering production technologies.

    What you'll be doing

    This internship offers a unique opportunity to get involved in every stage of our engineering process, including:

    • Designing production line components and layouts
    • Implementing and testing changes on active production systems
    • Operating and maintaining production lines during manufacturing runs
    • Prototyping new technologies and product concepts
    • Supporting the development of bespoke harvesting tools and equipment
    • Collaborating with the team on quality assurance systems and process controls

    You’ll be contributing to real projects from day one, with the support and mentorship of our experienced engineering and materials teams.

    What we’re looking for

    • Proficiency in CAD (Autodesk suite preferred but not essential)
    • Strong practical workshop skills (fabrication, assembly, etc.)
    • Solid understanding of design for manufacture principles
    • Creative problem solver who’s excited to work through complex challenges
    • Highly motivated self-starter who thrives in dynamic environments
