    In this commercial, fast-paced role, you will build relationships with a range of suppliers across wide and varied product categories, from wholesalers and traders to globally recognised brand owners such as L’Oréal, Reckitt Benckiser, Johnson & Johnson, and Kellogg’s. You will tailor your approach, from securing clearance stock as one-off deals to negotiating and agreeing longer-term brand partnerships, distributing into major UK retailers. You will play a key role in supporting the business in becoming the first-choice distribution partner for brand owners and customers worldwide.

    This position is ideal for someone ready to kick-start their journey towards becoming a Buyer. You will receive on-the-job training and support from industry professionals, providing you with the critical skills required to build a successful career at Pricecheck.

    What you'll be doing

    • Partner with a Buyer to build and manage effective supplier relationships via calls, emails, and meetings, with the goal of maximising commercial opportunities for Pricecheck.
    • Prospect new suppliers by conducting market research online and in-store, identifying gaps in brands/products. Stay up-to-date with current trends via social media, influencers, and emerging brands.
    • Manage your own supplier accounts, developing the skills required for a successful career in buying.
    • Prepare attractive brand and product presentations to collaborate with our large sales team and their customers.
    • Provide insights into category performance through reporting and proactively give feedback to your Buyer. Analyse category performance and highlight any slow-selling lines, creating an effective plan with your Buyer to move stock efficiently through the business.
    • Assist the Buyer with day-to-day tasks and help prepare for trade shows and meetings.
    • Cover for your Buyer/s in their absence, monitor their inbox, communicate with suppliers to ensure no feedback is pending, and analyse offers, signing off with the Buying Director/Senior Buyers.

    • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
    • Good time management skills with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
    • Proficient knowledge of MS Office (including working knowledge of spreadsheets)
    • A passion for learning and a desire to succeed
    • Successful candidates must live within a commutable distance
    • Educated to graduate level preferred
