Due to continuing growth, Ridge and Partners are now looking for a talented Graduate M&E Quantity Surveyor to join our team in Reading - Theale.

About the role

As a Graduate M&E Quantity Surveyor, based in Reading, you will be responsible for assisting in the provision of a wide range of M&E quantity surveying services under the direction of a Team Manager. You will be working on projects including large industrial and commercial schemes with contract values over £30 million to smaller schemes and working in interesting sectors including; healthcare, insurance, government sites, etc.

Role and responsibilities

  • Assist in the evaluation of costs and advise on alternative proposals
  • Advise on contract arrangements and conditions under which building will be constructed
  • Advise on implications of different construction methods, materials etc
  • Provide assistance with the undertaking of pre and post contract work for both End User Clients and Contractors / Sub-Contractors
  • Working on energy reduction and sustainability innovations and roll outs

Experience and skills required

To be successful at Ridge you will need to demonstrate the desire and drive to becoming Chartered. The position will be fully supported by the company (the national Ridge RICS APC support process) and the vastly experienced and talented Reading M&E Quantity Surveying Team.

  • BSc in Quantity Surveying, similar level degree or vocational qualification (or equivalent)
  • Some cost management experience (ideally M&E cost management but not essential)
  • Clean UK driving licence
