Our innovation strategy is simple - we want to solve the problems we have today as well as find answers to some of our industry’s biggest future challenges. The technology landscape is rapidly changing with advancements in the field of artificial intelligence, and we want to be at the forefront of leveraging these technologies.

Whether it's delivering water that is always good to drink, reducing waste in our processes with energy efficient technologies or improving visibility of the network, our 150+ strong team of innovators are working day in day out to make it happen.

If you want to do more because you care, we’d love to talk to you. There really is something for everyone here.

How the program will work

Our Technical Leadership Graduate Programme within Data Science & Analytics offers the perfect blend of personal and professional development. Within this programme you will have structured rotations through different technical disciplines such as Data Analytics, Data Engineering and Data Science whilst delivering tangible insights for some of the business’ most important data challenges.

In a typical day you could be developing complex predictive machine learning models, presenting business critical analytics to leadership through data visualisations or even harnessing powerful AI tools to innovate our business processes. Working alongside our Innovation colleagues, you will be working on high impact analytics projects using real-world data from our operational technologies.

A critical and curious mindset, along with analytical and numerical skills are key for this role. You'll need to be an excellent communicator to be able to translate complex and technical data into meaningful insights for important decision making. You will be communicating with stakeholders on multiple levels, and assessing and prioritising work based upon business value.

Furthermore, you will form close relationships with the wider Asset Intelligence Teams to improve our data strategy to enhance the availability, quality, and usability of our data.

Typical off-scheme role

This can vary depending on your personal career ambitions and the business needs at the time, but it will be a data professional role, such as Data Scientist, Data Engineer, or Data Analyst.

Our New Talent Team will guide you and support you every step of the way. Furthermore, your line manager, mentor and buddy will be there to help you in making sure you reach your full potential here at Severn Trent.
