We are seeking a proactive graduate with a Construction or Built Environment background to join our technical team to gain an insight into how to manage the adoption process for highways, sewers, and public open spaces (POS). You will ensure tight control of bonds and budgets, working closely with the Development Infrastructure Manager. This role also involves managing historical infrastructure not available for adoption.

You will gain exposure and experience in

  • Assist with Health & Safety Method Statements and Risk Assessments, ensuring approval before commencing maintenance works.
  • Produce CDM Pre-construction Health and Safety Files as needed.
  • Support the review and technical approval of proposed adoptable assets.
  • Participate in reducing bond liability and support the bond portfolio management.
  • Conduct timely inspections, review Health & Safety implications, and manage bonds efficiently.
  • Keep the regional adoption schedule and completed estates report updated.
  • Attend progress meetings with contractors to ensure compliance with Local Authority standards.
  • Assist with issuing certificates for roads and sewers, ensuring adoption standards are met.
  • Liaise with internal and external legal teams on agreements, deeds, and land transfers.
  • Provide technical team support and manage site closures effectively.
  • Collaborate with customer care and Local Authorities for final site sign-offs.
  • Investigate and manage historical and unadopted land, ensuring maintenance and Health & Safety compliance.
  • Use AutoCAD to produce Adoption Plans for highways, sewers, and POS areas.

What you will need

  • A 2:1 Degree in a Built Environment or Construction Related Course
  • A Driving License
  • A Willingness to travel around your area
