Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Archaeology Consultant to join us in delivering a diverse range of projects within the historic environment. Working across archaeology, built heritage and historic landscapes, you’ll develop a wide range of valuable skills and experience in providing assessments and consultancy advice. Projects will vary from small developments to major infrastructure schemes in the defence, commercial, residential, transport, energy and urban regeneration sectors. As a motivated person this permanent position offers great opportunities to grow and develop your career with a supported programme of development.

Reporting to the management team you will be responsible for assisting with a range of projects at different phases, including desk-based research, site walkover surveys and producing initial assessments/reports. You will assist other Archaeological and Heritage Consultants and will be aiming to obtain good working relationships with internal and external teams.

This role will provide you with opportunities to develop and build relationships with colleagues and clients alike through collaborative working and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

  • A degree or Masters in a relevant subject (BA, BSc, MA, MSc)
  • Computer Literate with experience of ArGIS
  • Good general knowledge of British Archaeology
  • Excellent research and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently, sometimes outdoors
  • Commitment to studying towards professional qualification
  • Strong analytical, written, communication and presentation skills
  • Excellent teamwork skills
  • Full Driving Licence
