As our new Inside Sales Account Manager you will be directly responsible for selling a wide range of laboratory equipment, consumables and services to our Biotech customers across the UK and Ireland.  You will primarily use virtual methods (email, phone, and video conferencing) to engage with customers, but will also have occasional face-to-face meetings.

You will focus on building relationships and developing opportunities for growth within our existing customer base, whilst also hunting for new customers. The successful candidate will drive market penetration, profitability and sales revenue against defined targets.

This role will be fully remote (working from home) based anywhere in the UK.  Some travel will be required (up to 10% of working time) to meet with key customers and attend internal meetings.

This role is ideal for a Life Sciences graduate with some laboratory or customer-facing experience, who wants to pursue a sales career at a global company.  Our organization is developing, and we guarantee an interesting and exciting position, in an international environment.  We will provide full product and sales training to develop your selling skills and ensure your success in the role.

What will you do?                             

  • Build strong, collaborative relationships with customers and suppliers that allow for continued partnership and growth
  • Perform sales calls to understand customer needs and independently make decisions to implement tailored solutions
  • Develop and implement sales strategies and plans to expand business; identify new business opportunities to meet or exceed sales objectives
  • Understand the structure, relationships, and connections in key accounts and build strategies that align with key decision makers
  • Optimize partnerships with a broad network of cross-functional internal and external collaborators to drive revenue targets
  • Research competitor and industry activity to remain informed of new products/services and other general information of interest to customers
  • Use analytics to build strategies and uncover opportunities; generate opportunities by introducing new products

Who we are looking for

  • A degree in a Life Science
  • Any kind of work experience outside of your degree: Laboratory-based work, sales/telesales/retail sales or customer service experience in any industry all of particular interest
  • Ideally you will have spent some time in a lab
  • Commercial approach, with a genuine desire to work in a sales role
  • Positive demeanor and desire to succeed
  • Strong communicator and confident personality; able to engage and influence at all levels
  • Fluent in English
  • Digital literacy in MS Teams, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint or similar programs required
  • Willing and able to travel within the UK up to 10% of working time
