We are looking for an ambitious Technical Application Scientist (TAS) to join our Cell Analysis Technical Support Team. As TAS, you will provide pre- and post- sales support to customers by phone and email on technical queries relating to our Cell Analysis instrument and consumables product lines, with a particular focus on Microscopy. In addition, you will also support our field colleagues and wider sales team with any technical queries they may have.
The role
Your customer base will be both English and French-speaking, so we are looking for candidates who are able to speak both English and French (minimum C1 level) fluently.
The role will be hybrid, split between office-working (3 days per week) and working from home (2 days per week). Candidates can be based from either our Inchinnan, Paisley office (UK), or our Madrid office (Spain).

What will you do?
- Provide technical support for Thermo Fisher Scientific products lines and services by answering customer technical queries via email and phone, in English and French
- Record and manage customer complaints on technical and quality issues, escalating as required
- Troubleshoot and provide advice or solutions to problems, arranging credits or replacement products as required
- Track product-related issues and escalate quality issues when needed
- Work with CRM (Customer Relationship Management) system to build a strong customer database and assist our Sales partners by identifying, recording and calling out opportunities to generate revenue
- Participate in team tasks, including - but not limited to - complaint analysis, customer surveys, Voice of Customer reports etc.
- Maintain knowledge of new applications and technologies to remain at the cutting edge of scientific knowledge
- May be required to perform other related duties as required and/or assigned
Who we are looking for
- Fluent in both French and English (additional languages welcome)
- Master’s degree or higher in a Life Science, or equivalent research experience
- Hands-on experience of Microscopy
- Able to learn large amounts of new and complex technical information
- Excellent communication skills
- Given the customer facing nature of this position, previous customer service experience is desirable, but not essential. We encourage friendly individuals with people-orientated skills. Customer satisfaction is a must
- A goal-orientated mindset with good troubleshooting skills and able to manage multiple competing priorities
- Must enjoy working as part of a team and be a friendly and supportive individual
- Able to commit to the full 1 year contract due to the extensive up-front training needed to fully support our expansive product line
