    About the role

The Business Intelligence Service, sitting within the Strategic Planning and Performance Directorate, is responsible for key student-related statutory returns and the data for national and strategic surveys and provides data insights throughout the University to assess our performance and to make informed decisions.

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Data Support Officer to join our team focusing on data quality and student engagement analysis. We welcome applications from someone with strong statistical and analytical skills, with a keen eye for detail. You should be confident working with data, with a determination to improve data quality and deliver actionable insights to facilitate intelligence-led decision-making across the University.

You will be expected to make effective use of qualitative and quantitative data, applying appropriate analytical tools and techniques to derive meaningful and actionable insights. As part of your role, you will support the preparation and presentation of data analysis reports and recommendations for a variety of audiences. You will also work collaboratively with a range of key stakeholders across the University, supporting data quality and helping to explain the requirements and implications of engagement data metrics in order to improve the institutional understanding of this data.

With a degree, part qualified relevant professional qualification or demonstrable level of experience and continued development, you will have experience using a range of tools and advanced techniques combined with strong communication and interpersonal skills. A background in Higher Education is desirable but not essential to this role.
