The A side: A day in the life
UMPG Classics & Screen is a newly formed division at UMPG focusing on the promotion of classical and screen composers and catalogues. This includes catalogs like Ricordi, Durand/Salabert-Eschig, and EMB, which includes composers Puccini, Respighi, Poulenc, Messiaen, Haas, Kurtag, David Lang, Julia Wolfe, Michael Gordon and more. Decca Publishing which specializes in post-classical, electronic and score composers like Max Richter, Isobel Waller-Bridge, Clark, Actress, Ben Frost and UMPG’s roster of screen composers including Danny Elfman, Alexandre Desplat, James Newton-Howard, David Lynch, Andrew Lloyd Webber, Gustavo Santaolalla, Nicholas Britell and more.
The B side: skills & experience
Be administrative
- Assist UMP administration teams to collate, review and deliver copyright information from composers to include works titles and cue-sheets
- Collate information on roster’s singles/album releases
- Collate and review broadcast information and disseminate to appropriate teams
- Collate and review live performance details, gather set list information and disseminate to appropriate teams
- Document creation (spreadsheets/word docs/one-sheets or equivalent)
Be organised
- Ticket ordering and distribution of tickets throughout the company for international events and awards
- Database management/data entry and performance calendar management (research and tracking)
- Pulling together report information from the departments and collating into reports for the EVP
- Processing invoices through accounts department
- Responsible for organising gifts for artists on special occasions
Person specification
- Confident liaising with people at all levels including Directors, Artists/ Artists Management
- Good organisational & communication skills
- Able to work in a pressured environment
- Works well as part of a team but also able to take own initiative
- Excellent IT skills, especially in Word and Excel (or equivalent)
- Good typing and audio skills
- Proactive approach to work, able to pre-empt problems before they occur
- Passionate about classical music is desirable
