Programme structure

You will take eight core and two optional courses, and complete a dissertation. Your dissertation will focus on an HRM/HRD issue which develops your organisational research skills and encourages the development of research informed solutions to real life work-based issues.

Career prospects

By the end of the programme you will have acquired the knowledge and skills for developing your career in either HRM or HRD, including international managerial roles. Recent graduates have gone onto roles including HR Analyst, Recruiter, Diversity & Inclusion Manager and HR Director. The learning approach emphasises experiential learning, reflective practice, and the development of interpretive, evaluative and problem-solving abilities which provide benefits for employers and enhances graduate career prospects.

Entry requirements

2.1 Honours degree or non-UK equivalent in business, management, engineering or related social science or science subject, with at least 20% of courses in organisational behaviour and/or psychology, leadership, employee relations, human resource management, organisational change or learning and personnel development. Those who do not have this level of relevant knowledge and who would like to pursue further studies in the area of HRM are advised to apply for the MSc Management with Human Resources.

Applicants will be made offers based on their relative performance compared to other applicants, taking into account both current GPA, or degree classification, and the relevance of an applicant’s academic background.
