Graduate programme

During this programme, you’ll gain valuable insight into our services and strategic projects and we’ll help you to further develop your skills and knowledge so that you can succeed in your career. You’ll also join our graduate network and receive our continued support throughout.

What you'll be doing

  • Act as technical support for Electrical, Control and Instrumentation (ECI) reactive and maintenance issues.
  • Support Senior ECI Engineers and Project Managers to deliver ECI projects in line with deadlines, budget and scope, including drafting new technologies supporting documentation.
  • Gain further technical understanding of control systems and control system networks.
  • Make sure that the PPM schedule is uploaded and reviewed in a timely manner.
  • Be responsible for weekly reporting in relation to completed vs. outstanding ECI work and escalate any high-risk issues if not addressed in a timely manner.
  • Monitor KPI progress with complete vs. incomplete tickets.
  • Learn to manage relationships with contractors to focus on efficient project delivery while promoting a Health and Safety culture.
  • Learn to project manage, starting with project development to project construction, commissioning and handover phases.
  • Support the senior engineers and managers with the project acceptance process to ensure the plant meets the predetermined resilience and performance criteria.
  • Be an ambassador of Veolia’s Health and Safety culture.
  • Support with Software Management, System Maintenance, and Site Operations Scada Systems

The successful candidate may be required to work in collaboration with our wider operational, engineering and performance teams as a part of your development programme.

What we're looking for

  • Degree in Instrumentation and Control Engineering or related subject (to be achieved by Sept 2024)
  • A creative and solution-oriented thinker
  • Full UK driving license
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Proficient with Microsoft/Google spreadsheets, documents, Gantt charts, presentations
