Our Internal Audit function provides independent advice on the organisations’ risks and controls and works with the business to identify and implement improvements where needed and ensure best practice measures are in place.

This is mainly achieved by conducting audit engagements to help the business accomplish its objectives. The team brings a systematic approach to evaluating and improving processes and contributes towards continuous improvement across the business.

What you could be doing

  • During your placement year you will assist the team in planning and performing various internal audits across the business and get involved in the follow-up process to close the audit actions that have been raised
  • You will gain exposure to various departments within the business and develop a network of key contacts in each of these areas.
  • You will work with a fast paced, busy Internal Audit team to plan and perform operational, financial and compliance audits as well as IT audits
  • Support the Internal Audit team to prepare, coordinate, perform and follow up on joint audits with our Corporate Internal Audit team at VWFS Germany
  • You will assist in the follow up of audit findings with the Internal Audit team

  • You will be enrolled at a University which offers a 1 year industrial placement
  • You will be studying towards a Business related degree
  • You will have good interpersonal and team player skills
  • Be resilient and self-motivated with the capability to work under own initiative
  • An ability to learn and apply new or unfamiliar knowledge quickly
  • Methodical, analytical and disciplined approach to work with an eye for detail
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of MS Office applications such as Excel and Word

What to expect from the assessment process

Once you have decided our placement is for you, click the apply button and fill out some quick multiple-choice questions to support your application. We’ll be in touch shortly after receiving your application to advise if you have been progressed to the next stage.

You will then be invited to complete an online video interview where you have the opportunity to tell us about you and your amazing qualities.

If you are successful after completing your video interview, you will be invited to attend an assessment centre at our Milton Keynes offices. Here, you will complete a Competency Based Interview, deliver a Presentation and take part in a Group Exercise. We’ll provide you with appropriate support and guidance before you attend.
