We have a brand new role here at Yell , we are looking for a Graduate Data Scientist / Analyst to join our Data and Insight team.

This role is in the Data and Insight team responsible for providing analytics, reporting, research, and managing the listing database including company level insight. This role is to expand the capability of the team analytics through processing data from various sources and understand underlying performance to build models to drive actionable insight.

An ideal candidate will have completed an undergraduate degree in a relevant subject and have keen interest in data analytics and the opportunities to use to drive business decisions.

Role Responsibilities

  • Assimilate and standardise input variables
  • Analyse data to understand the core drivers of customer churn with particular attention to differences with those in the first year of advertising
  • Analyse data to understand the core drivers of revenue churn
  • Build a predictive model to drive actions to prevent customer loss and thereby improve churn rates
  • Build tools for next best action for retention and prospecting to embed in Yell’s account planning process to identify at risk customers in time to service appropriately and change outcome
  • Utilise business firmographic, interactions and actions over time and recommendations for additional external/market data to make models more robust
  • Analyse data to answer key business questions on digital data journeys
  • Conduct data analysis using statistical tools, databases and spreadsheets
  • Measure performance of A:B tests & new product initiatives, and report on progress

Essential Skills

  • Relevant qualification at bachelor level or higher.
  • Data or Computer Science
  • Maths
  • Analytics
  • Ability to understand complex processes
  • Capability using SQL and Power BI
  • High level usage of Adobe Analytics (Omniture) and other data and reporting platforms
  • A good level of statistical methods and spreadsheets.
  • Confident in working with structured and non structured data variables
  • Be able to adapt quickly & positively to change
  • Be committed to providing excellent customer service
  • Present analytical conclusions with clarity and actionable insights
  • A flair for visualising data to make it easy to understand

Desired

  • High communication skills to demonstrate complex models in accessible way
  • Experience with SAP C4C CRM system and Python
  • Experience with Hadoop would be an advantage but is not essential
  • Understanding of machine learning models, algorithms and techniques
