Securing a graduate role with Limitless - Top tips from Matt, a Client Experience and Solutions Associate

Created on 10 Jul 2019

To congratulate Matt on being hired by London-based start-up Limitless, we sent him his celebratory bottle of champagne and, 3 months into his new role as a client experience and solutions associate, we caught him for a chat. This is what the Nottingham graduate had to say about his new job, the Bright Network High Growth demo day at which he got hired, and the tips he had for any future applicants.

What work are you getting up to in your new role?

I currently help manage the design and implementation of our ambassador program and software for clients. There’s a lot of client interaction as well as needing to understand the software and product we sell. The work is really valuable and, while it’s not what I’m used to, it is helping me develop my professional services skillset as well as giving me lots of exposure to how business runs. I’ve particularly enjoyed and valued this exposure to the different functions of the business.

How did you find the demo day?

I was very impressed with the day as a whole and how smartly it was run. The warm up icebreaker session helped relax everyone and make it feel a lot less competitive thus making the whole experience far more enjoyable than other application processes I have been involved in. I particularly liked the reverse careers fair where we were given the chance to speak to employers face to face and convince them of our ability.

 Matt’s top tips:

  1. Don’t heap pressure on yourself, it’ll just make you underperform and be too nervous.
  2. Showcase your own personality and be yourself.
  3. Use your time between sessions wisely, for example you could research the companies present in that time!

What’s been your favourite moment so far?

The quarterly meeting and getting to see how the work I was doing was helping build the vision of Limitless that we wanted.
