Securing a graduate role at Limitless Technology - Top tips from Jamal, a Client Experience and Solutions Associate

Created on 10 Jul 2019

We’d like to wish Jamal, a university of Hertfordshire Mechanical Engineering graduate, a huge congratulations on securing a role with the innovative start-up Limitless through Bright Network's Growth Associate Programme. We caught up with Jamal to see how he was settling into his new role and to ask him for any tips he had for application processes.

How did you find the Growth Associate Programme?

I loved how we were able to speak directly to employers rather than have our applications viewed remotely. It allowed us to be much more than just a C.V. and gave us the opportunity to showcase our character and talent in person to our future employers. I think my highlight was the time machine group exercise, it was a thoroughly enjoyable take on the typical group exercise assessment.

I found the further career support and interview guidance after the day to be helpful as it relaxed me for the interview process, in addition to giving me some really smart tips that I hadn’t considered before.

How have you found life at Limitless so far?

I am enjoying the responsibility and autonomy that working in a rapidly expanding start-up has given me. The team are all so supportive and I’ve learnt a lot in the few months I’ve been here so far. I am currently providing knowledge support to clients helping them implement and run an ambassador program that is unique to them.

What are your top tips for future applicants?

  1. Be prepared to present yourself to employers.
  2. Don’t be intimidated by the employers, they’re people too and if they’re telling you a role is hard that’s typically because they want to test your motivation to work for them!
  3. Be yourself, don’t try to be the type of person that you think they or anyone else might want to hire because you don’t know what sort of person they’re actually looking for.

What do you like most about Limitless?

After I got the role Limitless asked when I could start, in response, I asked to have a few weeks to myself before I began the role so that I could visit my girlfriend in Japan before throwing myself into the work. Limitless were incredibly understanding and flexible so gave me the time to go away. This care for its employees is one of my favourite things about Limitless.
