Jasmine is a History graduate from Durham University. She secured a graduate role as an Analyst at Deloitte in London, through Bright Network.
First, please tell us a little bit about yourself.
“Growing up I always wanted to be a biochemist, but then at school I was more into humanities subjects, so I decided to study History at university.
Being an analyst in the financial sector is something I fell into by accident. I think it works for anyone who's sociable and considers themselves to be a bit of an all-rounder."
What motivated you to apply for the role?
“I think working in financial services is really beneficial for someone who is eager to learn. Most firms will sponsor further qualifications, and it's great that you can get qualified whilst getting practical work experience too.”
What was the application process like?
“The application process was definitely challenging, as there are many parts you need to juggle, such as fillling out pages of initial applications, online screening tests, recorded interviews and assessment centres.
All the different styles of assessment mean you need to be good at lots of different things to secure a role."
How did Bright Network help you secure your role?

What have you learnt from going through the process?
“I've learnt to persevere. Job hunting is difficult and you're unlikely to get the first job that you've applied for. But if you keep going, you'll eventually find the right one for you.”
What are your tips for people looking to follow in your footsteps?
“My advice would to be prepare early. Practice tests and sort out your CV in the summer before the autumn application season. That way you can really hit the ground running!"
