Liya is an Economics student from the University of Surrey. She secured a graduate job in Auditing at Forvis Mazars through Bright Network. 
First, we’d love for you to tell us a little bit about yourself.
“When it came to choosing my A-Levels I was still a little unsure of what path I wanted to take, so I decided to take a range of different A-Levels including Maths, Science, Economics and Design.”
“I particularly enjoyed my A-Level in Economics and decided I wanted to pursue it at university and I loved getting to work with numbers and large data sets to analyse trends and assess results during my degree.”
“When I began applying for graduate roles and browsing through lots of different careers within finance and analysis, auditing was something that really intrigued me.”
What was the application process like?
“After filling out a full application form, I was invited to complete a number of online tests and then having passed the tests, was asked to do a live interview.”
“I was successful at this stage and then went to their assessment centre which went well and resulted in being selected for a final interview at the office.”
“The whole process was a lot more enjoyable than I thought it would be and helped me land a job that I’m so excited to start!”
What was your application journey like?
“My application journey involved learning as I progressed through different applications.”
“You don’t always get it right the first time, but a lot of employers provide you with valuable feedback especially when you get to the later stages of the process, which can be useful in helping you to understand yourself better.”
“My final interview for the job that I’ve secured was really enjoyable as a result.”
What have you learned from going through the process?
“During this process I’ve learned that making sure your employer is well suited to you is just as important as their selection of you.”

“I’m really looking forward to starting my new role in September.”
