First, please tell us a little about yourself!
“During my Economics degree and through my creative hobbies, I realised that I wanted to pursue a career that makes the most of my creative problem-solving and numerical skills.
I decided to apply for a Project Management internship because I love the idea of getting involved in a variety of different projects.”
What motivated you to apply for the role?
“I was motivated to apply for the opportunity because Siemens Mobility works on a range of important rail-related projects, which really intrigued me.”
How did you prepare for the application process?
“I made sure to do thorough research into the company’s values and what qualities they would be assessing in their questions.
I also prepared general examples of solo and team-based work I’d done in the past that I could draw on during the interview.”
What was the application process like?
“The application process was surprisingly calm. After submitting my application, I completed various online tests, followed by an assessment centre in Northampton.
The online tests were fun, and the staff at the assessment centre were very welcoming, which made the experience much easier to navigate and excel in.”
How did Bright Network help you secure your role?
“I found the advertisement on the Bright Network website, which included all the job details and the application link.
I’ve also previously attended Bright Network’s Internship Experience UK and the Women in Leadership event.”
What is your advice for people looking to follow in your footsteps?
“My advice would be to believe in yourself — you’re better than you think!”
What did you learn from going through the process?
“I realised that it’s not as scary as you think, as long as you put the effort into your applications.
Make sure you’ve perfected your CV and built up your experiences beforehand so you have plenty of examples to discuss with interviewers.”
Tell us about the future. What’s next?
“I’m excited to see what I’ll learn during my time at Siemens — and I’m especially looking forward to becoming a train nerd!”
