There are many reasons to consider a career with leading technology firm, Citrix; from ground-breaking technology to a brilliant team culture with a fantastic work/life balance. Discover all the live opportunities at Citrix just here.

Here recent graduates share their top reasons to consider a career with the firm.

1. Role variety and development

Working at Citrix is brilliant for an intellectually curious computer scientist or engineer. You have the opportunity to work across a wide range of different technologies and also to work across all of Citrix’s products – giving you brilliant exposure to a variety of different tech. It’s highly mentally stimulating and keeps every day challenging and interesting. As a result you are constantly learning, and developing into a solid software engineer.

2. Work life balance

There is a relaxed culture at Citrix – your manager is supportive and focuses on the output of your work, not the number of hours you spend at your desk. There are no unnecessary early mornings and no working until the small hours. As a result, work life balance is very good – you can come in whenever you want and leave whenever you’re done. I tend to do 9.30-5pm but it varies across the team depending on what people have outside of work. I have never been asked to stay late – and that’s really important to me.

3. Location

Cambridge and Chalfont are genuinely beautiful locations and great places to work. Cambridge is less than an hour from London but has all the benefits of cheaper rent, lots of social life (thanks to the university) and lots of green spaces, sports facilities and history. Cambridge is a real hot spot for software engineering, so it really is where the best in the industry are based. Both Cambridge and Chalfont offices are also state of the art technology buildings with flexible working spaces, break out rooms, big sociable canteens (with free food and football tables) and all of the technology facilities you could think of. It’s a brilliant place to be based.

4. Benefits

There are a wide variety of benefits to working at Citrix. These vary from the fantastically supportive and inclusive working culture to the training and rotation opportunities available. On training - managers are very open to you self-organising training and cracking on with it, this has allowed me to learn new skills and technologies at work, alongside my day job. There is a flexible approach to rotations, which is a brilliant benefit for someone who is keen to explore as much of the firm as possible. Oh and if this wasn’t enough then there are free bacon sandwiches on a Friday and free cakes on a Tuesday, just to keep everyone full of energy!

5. The people

It’s a cliché but the people here are one of my favourite things about the firm. For starters, everybody is very smart so the level of thinking and development is very high. More than that though, people encourage autonomy whilst offering all the support and help you might need. It’s a brilliant balance which makes it a very supportive but stimulating place to work.
