    We caught up with Bethan, who completed Berenbergs European Equities Summer Internship Programme in 2020, to find out more about her experience.

    I chose a Berenberg internship because they work with a lot of small to medium cap firms, who are more entrepreneurial and creative.

    I worked with two different Research teams – Environment, Social and Government (ESG) and food manufacturing. ESG’s a very recent topic in research, so it’s quite a unique introduction to finance, working across lots of different sectors.

    What stood out for me was how supportive everyone was. The ESG manager was keen to give me exposure to different sectors – I even contributed to a piece of renewable energy research. It was a varied summer and really helped me to decide that Research was what I was interested in.
