Black Heritage Future Leaders is taking place on the 9th September and is designed to support our Bright Network members in exploring different career paths in various sectors, whilst introducing you to committed, inclusive employers. After the success of our previous Student Leadership Boards, we are delighted to announce that we're offering spaces for 4 virtual and 8 in-person Student Leadership Board. We're looking to collaborate with bright and ambitious students passionate about championing diversity.
By joining the Student Leadership Board, you'll take an elevated role in the run up to the event as well as on the day during the networking to help maximise the benefits of the event for yourself and other members.
It's a great opportunity to enhance your CV with valuable skills – leadership, communication, marketing, and networking.
In-Person Student Leadership Board
Why should you apply?

What will the role involve?
As a Student Leadership Board member, you will be taking a more influential role before and at the event. Your core responsibilities will be:
In advance
- Attending one virtual pre-event meeting with the Event Manager lead for Black Heritage Future Leaders
- Keeping attendees warm through our online community – Guild. Find out more about Guild here
- Support with spreading the word about Bright Network Black Heritage Future Leaders at your university, societies and posting on social media
- Working together with the event marketing lead to refer students to sign up to the events
- Sending in a short, 100-word, third-person biography and photo that will be displayed on screen at the event and included in the digital programme that will be accessible to all attendees and employers
- Work with other Student Leadership Board members to plan and deliver an ice-breaker activity for the morning of the event
On the day
- Arrive at the venue at 09:00am
- Attend a briefing with the Bright Network team on the day of the event
- Helping the team with live social media content on the day of the event
- Deliver an icebreaker session of your choice to our members
- Help manage registrations, assist with logistics and welcome attendees and partner firm representatives
- Lead networking and guide fellow attendees to have productive conversations with partner firms
Who are we looking for?
We're looking for the Black Heritage Future Leaders Student Leadership Board to be made up of people who:
- Are motivated and enthusiastic about maximising the event's impact for employers and students
- Are confident to take on a leadership role during the event
- Have successfully applied and received an offer to attend the in-person event
- Have familiarity with social media promotion. This would be a bonus but not essential
Virtual Student Leadership Board
In advance

- Deliver a virtual ice-breaker activity for the virtual attendees on the morning of the event
- Asking questions in the Ask Me Anything virtual booths with Bright Network Alumni
- Submitting questions in the chat function during the live-streamed sessions. Time-permitting, these questions may be relayed live to the speaker
- Monitoring the online chat and highlighting great questions from other attendees to the Bright Network team during the live-streamed sessions
Who are we looking for?
We're looking for the Black Heritage Future Leaders Student Leadership Board to be made up of people who:

There are only 8 spaces on the in-person board and 4 spaces on the virtual board. Applications are reviewed on a first come, first served basis. We recommend you apply as early as possible - the sooner you apply, the sooner you will be on the board and start making an impact!
