Carpmaels & Ransford is delighted to offer an Autumn Open Day at our Central London office on 08th September 2020.

If you are attracted by the prospect of joining a firm at the forefront of intellectual property law, one of our open days for aspiring patent attorneys could give you a real insight as to what the job entails.

Our open days are very relaxed and give you the opportunity to meet with a variety of people at different stages of their career journeys from across our practice groups.

The programme is designed to give you a better understandingof the daily life of a patent attorney.

As well as some presentations, it includes interactive workshops giving you the opportunitytoget involved withpatent drafting and prosecution. We finish the day with refreshments and the opportunity to chat with our people about their experiences within the profession so far.

Who should participate?

We typically offer up to 30 places for each of our open days.

In order to enter the patent profession, it is a key requirement to have a STEM degree. Please see our list of Accepted degrees for the profession; this is not an exhaustive list.

What you need to have

  • Strong A Levels, usually 3 at grade A or equivalent

  • Minimum 2.1 STEM degree (obtained or expected)

  • Excellent command of both written and spoken English

  • A keen interest in learning more about the profession

Priority will be given to applicants who are expecting to complete their academic studies or research within the academic year following the open day.
