Join our online masterclass on Quantitative Investment with Professor James Sefton, to get a taster of the academic experience at Imperial College Business School.
If you are a prospective or admitted student, we welcome you to use this opportunity to connect with a member of our world-class faculty at Imperial College Business School. This masterclass will be delivered by James Sefton, Professor in Economics and Academic Director (Finance & Accounting and Investment & Wealth Management).
The aim of the masterclass is to give an overview of the current practise of Quantitative Equity Investing. Starting off with a summary of the history and growth of Quantitative Investing, the lecture will focus on the approaches adopted, and tools used, in building a balanced, performance driven quantitative equity portfolio. It will finish with a personal view of how this ‘traditional’ approach is developing as more funds explore the potential of AI to improve their performance. There will also an interactive Q&A session afterwards.
James has previously worked as Head of Global Quantitative Investment at UBS, and Principal Scientist at Winton Capital Management. He has published widely on Quantitative Investment in both Academic and Practitioner Journals and current runs the elective for the MSc Finance Suite on Quantitative Investment.
