We are holding a Graduate Open Day in our Edinburgh office on Friday 6 December, from 2pm to 3.30pm. You’ll get an insight into what you could be doing as an Ofcom economist or policy graduate, as well as a chance to hear from our recruitment team.
Ofcom is the regulator for the communications services that we use and rely on each day. We make sure people get the best from their broadband, home phone and mobile services, as well as keeping an eye on TV and radio. Organisations we regulate include the BBC, BT and Sky, to name a few.
Economists and policy graduates gain an in-depth understanding of the sectors we regulate, by working across 4 different policy areas during the 2 year scheme. Ofcom offers ongoing training opportunities for graduates on all pathways throughout the scheme and beyond.
During the day you’ll meet a selection of Ofcom colleagues, who will present first-hand case studies on how economics and policy are fundamental to Ofcom’s work. You’ll also hear from our recruitment team about the application process and what we look for in an economist or policy graduate. Finally, there will be a chance to chat to current and past graduates, where you can probe Ofcom colleagues about what it’s really like to work here and be on the graduate scheme.
