Role Summary
An exciting opportunity to join an expanding and dynamic software delivery team within the Equiniti Xanite IT department, in the Equiniti Xanite business. Equiniti Xanite build, maintain, and support mission critical Share Dealing and Wealth Administration software. The EQX team are a global team with teams in Chennai, Krakow, and Cardiff. This is a Cardiff based role however, project work may require occasional visits to other sites.
The core activities of the Xanite Software Delivery team are to deliver innovative software solutions to meet the needs of both internal and external client base; to provide technical input to the Xanite product set and ensure that the technology roadmap aligns to business strategy, to support the Equiniti business by delivering market leading technology solutions through an in depth knowledge of the markets and products that Equiniti work with and to create a centre of excellence for all Java development within the Equiniti Group.

Core Duties/Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for
- Develop software following industry best practices within the scope of Equiniti projects and architecture.
- Ensure, as part of the project scrum team, that software has been unit tested, peer reviewed and meets the architectural principles of the application.
- Author unit tests and work collaboratively to test that software meets acceptance criteria.
- Work collaboratively with product owners, solution design and infrastructure teams to meet client requirements as part of your scrum team.
- Participate in planning, retrospective, review sessions and daily stand-ups.
- Adherence to all Regulatory, Security and Compliance requirements
- Ability to work calmly and methodically when under pressure
- Eagerness to learn and expand their knowledge of the development life cycle and multiple programming languages.
Skills, Knowledge & Experience
The successful candidate will demonstrate the following experience skills and behaviours:
Required
- Degree in relevant subject (e.g., Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics) or a software development background.
- Technical ability in a mainstream programming language (preferably Java).
- Sound knowledge of OO design principles and patterns.
- Sound knowledge of database design principals and SQL.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment.

- Microsoft ADO
