We're looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated marketing professional (maternity cover) to join our marketing team in Scotland.

The role

As Marketing Assistant (maternity cover), you'll play a critical role in ensuring Stagecoach delivers high-quality, reliable and efficient marketing assistance to Stagecoach across it's North Scotland bus network.

The post holder will be based at the company's headquarters in Inverness or Aberdeen, with some remote working and travel required.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Marketing Manager to execute tactical marketing plans. You'll be working on campaigns across each of our North Scotland depots, and will be keeping our customers, communities and colleagues at the heart of everything you do.

What you'll do

  • Assist in the planning, execution and tracking of marketing campaigns across various channels, including digital, print, social media, and event.
  • Working closely with the wider Marketing Team to implement the Stagecoach National Marketing Strategy.
  • Assist in the planning and coordination of marketing events, trade shows, conferences and sponsorships.
  • Providing general administrative support to the marketing team, including scheduling meetings, managing calendars, organising files and documents, and maintaining marketing databases or CRM systems.
  • Supporting with marketing queries and providing advice. Ensuring physical presence in your business areas and regions with regular visits to our sites. Supporting the Marketing Manager in the management of agency and supplier relationships. 
  • Collateral and Content Development: Drafting marketing collateral, such as advertising campaigns, digital marketing, brochures, flyers, and promotional materials, ensuring they are aligned with the brand and effectively communicate our customer proposition. 
  • Localised and Digital Marketing: Ensure all local platforms are compliant with the central strategy and that all local content is up to date and relevant for our Operating Companies and their audiences. You will also update our online presence and leverage digital marketing channels such as websites, social media, email marketing, and search engine optimisation (SEO) to reach and engage with our customers.  
  • Data Analysis and Reporting: Assist in gathering and analysing marketing data, such as campaign performance metrics, website analytics, and customer feedback. Help prepare regular reports and presentations to showcase marketing results and insights to the Marketing team and the wider business. 
  • Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies to identify opportunities for innovation and partnership. 

Background

Stagecoach North Scotland bus services cover Aberdeen city and shire, Buchan, Moray, Inverness, Badenoch and Strathspey, Caithness, Easter Ross, Sutherland, Orkney and Skye.

What you will need to be successful in this role

The Marketing Assistant role requires a combination of enthusiasm, communication and organisation skills, as well as a commitment to ongoing continuous business improvement and optimised service delivery.

  • At least one years experience in a similar marketing role.
  • Degree qualified Marketing, Communications and or Business Management.
  • Passion and understanding of the importance of Stagecoach bus services to individuals, communities, local authorities and the part that the bus industry plays in the Government's NetZero ambition would be a strong starting position.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyse data. Proactive and results-oriented mindset, with the ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate with different stakeholders, including customers and internal teams within Operating Companies and Stagecoach Group.
  • Strong organisational skills.
  • Full UK driving license, as some travel is required.
