Realise your potential and enjoy a wealth of opportunities in a graduate role at Sagars.
The role
We are now inviting applications for graduates to join Sagars in Summer 2024. Opportunities exist to join either the audit, business advisory group, private client or corporate tax teams. Successful applicants will gain quality work experience with us whilst studying for the ACA qualification with the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) under a Level 7 Accounting Professional Apprenticeship. Candidates taking up a predominantly tax-based role within either our private or business client team will be supported to achieve the joint ACA/CTA qualification.
Regardless of which team you join, you’ll have your own mentor, and you can expect the full support of our award-winning team throughout your training contract. You’ll get the very best technical training and early responsibility with practical experience across a wide range of audit, accounting and tax work in a progressive firm that’s embracing the latest technological developments.
The average length of service at Sagars is 9 years, testament to the flexible and supportive working environment that we’ve created. Four of our current partners and directors, and many of our senior managers joined us as graduates - proof of the excellent career prospects that exist for the right people.
To guarantee the very best technical and personal levels of service, we’re looking for high calibre graduates with the drive and personality to help us meet our clients’ needs. Competition is tough and you’ll need a minimum ABB at A level (or equivalent) and a 2:1 degree classification (in any discipline) to be considered.
We offer
- paid study leave with all course and exam fees paid.
- standard 37.5 hour week with paid overtime
- a competitive salary
- agile, flexible and variable working arrangements
- paid volunteering day and opportunity to have an active role in our ESG team

Please note that the Graduate Training Programme (ACA) does not meet the salary requirements for a visa sponsorship scheme. At the time of starting their employment, the successful candidate must have permission to work in the UK.
