Aardman is looking for a 3rd Assistant Editor to assist the Editor and full editorial team in delivering a final film for broadcast. The successful candidate will work alongside the edit team in providing support and self-initiated proactive working.
About you
We are looking for a self-motivated individual who has a keen eye for detail. The right candidate have knowledge of digital media and graphic files as well as a broad experience and confidence in general computer use.
Experience of Avid editing software and knowledge of Davinci Resolve and Adobe Creative Suite software would be beneficial.

What you'll do
This is a summary of main tasks and responsibilities and is not intended to be exhaustive.
- To support the Editor and editorial team as required
- To be experienced in the use of Avid to a high standard. Knowledge of Davinci Resolve and Adobe Creative Suite software beneficial
- To be responsible for the organisation, input and output of media to and from Avid as required by the production under supervision of the 1st and 2nd assistant editors
- To number and import storyboards using in house software
- To update Aardman production software daily on all changed sequences and input shot approval status
- To ingest and upload any animation reference requested by production crew
- Ingest and log production dialogue and scratch record sessions
- Assemble daily/weekly crew rushes and animator meeting edits
- To assist in the Viewing Theatre with crew viewings if required
- Work on a shift pattern with the viewing room edit assistant during shoot to make sure the floor is covered in the morning and director/ editor support in the evening. This would not extend your 40 hour working week
- To provide marketing and licensing material as requested
- Ensuring security of confidential material
- Work within the Health and Safety at work guidelines
Person specification (essential and desirable background, skills and experience)
- Experience of Avid editing software. Knowledge of Davinci Resolve and Adobe Creative Suite software beneficial
- Working knowledge of animated series / feature film methodology
- Broad experience of and confidence with computer use in general
- Knowledge of digital media and graphic file types preferable
- Good knowledge of digital and analogue AV technology preferable
