Access Partnership seeks a recent graduate or a candidate with initial workplace experience looking to develop their skills in the field of public policy, governmental affairs and international diplomacy. The selected candidate must possess a good grasp of international politics, the policy making process in Latin America, and skill to articulate policy arguments in written documentation.
A demonstrable interest in the evolving public policy environment around communications technologies is an advantage. Likewise, strong writing skills in English.
This position can be based in either Washington, D.C. or London, UK - D.C. is preferred.
Emerging Markets Team
We support public policy in Latin America on behalf of clients, including telecoms infrastructure companies, cloud computing providers, Internet platforms, governments, and international organizations. We monitor compliance risks and lead engagement with key stakeholders to support the advancement of Fair Tech policies. Our core team is based in London, Washington D.C, Singapore, Brussels, and Johannesburg
What you can expect to be doing
- Gathering and synthesising news reports and updates from regulators, multilateral organisations and other relevant stakeholders
- Writing and analysing policy and regulatory implications of digital and tech development in the Latin American region
- Supporting the development of presentations, reports, studies and memos on a variety of subjects
- Carrying out market research on different services in digital technologies, ICT and telecoms sectors and helping to spot emerging trends.
- Contribute to the business development effort of the company by analysing new opportunities to grow and taking part in developing business proposals
- Maintaining calendars, organizing events and virtual roundtables, supporting with Marketing efforts
What you will bring
- Outstanding oral and written communication skills in English. Fluency in Spanish is an essential requirement (knowledge of Portuguese is advantageous)
- Previous experience or interaction with regional and/or international organizations, regional governments
- An ability to condense, structure and summarise information into clear and concise elements.
- Exceptionally organized and able to undertake work with minimal direction
- Knowledge of world affairs and government policy (basic knowledge of digital tech and telecom issues is advantageous)
- Good IT skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint in particular).
- Right to work in the US or the UK
