    We are looking for Graduates to join the Rating team within the Pricing and Analytics area of our multi-award winning business.

    What is the Rating Team?

    The Rating team is responsible for maintaining the rating engine of our Personal Lines Motor and Household products. Such as Car, Van, Home and Landlord Insurance. We work closely with our Pricing and Analytics areas to understand their requirements and to ensure that we carry out changes in a timely fashion. Our roles are crucial in ensuring the customer journey is not affected.

    What would your role entail?

    Based within the Pricing and Analytics area, you will spend the majority of your time making changes to our rating structure using a software package called Ratabase.

    You will be a part of a team who is responsible for ensuring that any required changes to the rating structure are implemented correctly and the appropriate amount of testing is completed.

    As your system knowledge grows, you will take on more responsibility for carrying out investigations autonomously and building / testing of increasingly complex changes.

    Skills we look for

    • Coding aptitude or experience.
      Any coding experience from school, university or hobby would be beneficial (i.e. VBA, SQL, Python, Java)
    • Logical mindset
      The ability to combine analytical thinking based on numbers together with common sense and ingenuity
    • Attention to detail
      The ability to review and write concise documents
    • Good time management
      The ability to prioritise work and manage your own workload
    • Communication
      Efficient in liaising with other members in the team and other departments, both verbally and in writing
    • Computer literacy
      Experience of using Microsoft products such as Excel and Word

    Qualifications we look for

    • 2:1 or above in a Mathematical degree discipline is desired
    • If you do not have a Mathematics degree, we are open to other STEM disciplines, subject to demonstrating a solid numerical and/or analytical academic background

    Location / Hybrid working

    We are working in a hybrid approach and so are in the office approximately twice per week in Cardiff. However, we are open to discussing flexibility around this (UK only). We will provide you with everything you need to work comfortably from home.

    All colleagues will receive 33 days holiday (including banks holidays) when they join us, and this will increase with length of service, up to a maximum of 38 days (including banks holidays).
