As a Graduate Data Analytics Consultant within our Integrated Decision Analytics team, you will be engaging clients in both the public and private sectors, both in the UK and around the world, supporting projects in sectors such as:
- Aviation
- Water and Wastewater
- Transportation – Roads and Rail
- Energy and Utilities
- Oil and Gas
The Cost Intelligence team, embedded within the Advisory Building and Places portfolio, develops class-leading, innovative solutions to support programs and projects across all stages. Integrated Decision Analytics specialises by providing support to our clients gain a deeper understanding of their project data available, advising on various components including data capture and management, all the way to building bespoke interactive dashboards leading up to a business intelligence tool for use on their programme.

Role & Responsibilities
The role can be varied and is dependent on the client, sector, and project, which can include
- Analysing project data
- Visualising PMO data using analytical tools including Power BI and Tableau etc.
- ETL operations on client data sets to facilitate analytical activities
- Creating efficiencies through automation of manual tasks
- Providing recommendations on improving data management and reporting processes
- Providing quality assurance on deliverables
- Cost model and cost estimate development including third-party verification and validation
- Statistical analysis to support benchmarking and efficiency exercises
- Business case development and cost-benefit analysis (financial and non-financial)
- Evolving our data capture technologies internally
We expect our Graduate Consultants to
- Work with the wider team to support our clients to understand and evaluate strategic options to support project decision-making
- Collaborate with more experienced team members to design data models and data analytics dashboards to help our clients identify the optimum business, organisational, programme, or commercial models to deliver their organisational strategy
- Participate in stakeholder engagement sessions, taking notes where required and identifying areas for further development
- Support senior members of the team in ad hoc tasks relating to internal initiatives and business development
- Ask questions to learn and increase their understanding of the sectors and project areas in which we work
- Proactively manage their own development, setting realistic goals and monitoring progress along with their line manager
- Identify opportunities to utilise new tools to improve our service offering to clients
- Take pride in their work, ensuring quality and timely delivery
You will perform many of the above tasks as a Graduate Data Analytics Consultant at AECOM, utilising your skills and experience to gain exposure to new research and development areas. In collaboration with the wider team, you will be responsible for delivering on deliverables within your projects and initiatives. Your technical expertise will make you able to help clients with their problems in an efficient and effective manner
Minimum Requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in a STEM, Finance, or Business Analytics/Management discipline
- Member of relevant industry body (desirable) with supporting accreditation/certifications
Skills and Experience
- Strong experience with using Python (or any programming language)
- Project and requirements management
- Stakeholder management with strong interpersonal skills
- Experience with using Microsoft Power Platform tools, including Dataverse, Power Apps, Power Automate, and Power BI
- Microsoft certifications for Power Platform
- Experience with SQL
- Experience with cloud computing services such as Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of Tableau, R and Power IB would be advantageous
