    AFRY offers a challenging career path in one of the world’s leading energy industry consultants. The opportunity exists for a Graduate Scientist/Engineer/Mathematician to join an expanding team of Safety and Reliability specialists in AFRY’s Nuclear Business Unit. The successful candidate would work to assist with the development and implementation of a variety of projects in nuclear safety and reliability services for a wide range of domestic and international clients.

    Therefore, under the supervision of experienced team members, you will develop your skills and contribute to projects in the following areas:

    • Hazard Identification techniques;
    • Safety and Hazard Analysis;
    • Quantified Risk Assessment;
    • Engineering design substantiation;
    • Option studies;
    • Plant and Site licensing;
    • Safety case documentation production, review and update;
    • Client relationship and business development.

    As your experience develops you will become increasingly responsible for your projects and to AFRY’s clients and supply chain.

    Your potential will be developed by a combination of structured training and hands on experience; there is the prospect of responsibility at an early stage. Assistance will be provided in support of achieving professional qualifications.

    Qualifications

    • A good Batchelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant STEM subject
    • Fluent in English.
    • Strong analytical skills.
    • Must have British nationality (due to the sensitive classification of the work).

    Depending on experience, the candidate should also be able to demonstrate the following:

    • An interest in the nuclear sector.
    • Strong oral communication skills, to assist working within project teams and for liaison with clients.
    • Strong written communication skills for input to reports, studies, proposals and specifications.
    • Willingness to work in a variety of different roles.
    • Willingness to work away from home office on UK projects for extended periods of time or abroad involving short stays.
