    We have an exciting opportunity for a Graduate Landscape Architect to join our creative and friendly team.

    About you

    An ambitious architect who is keen to flourish in a busy city centre studio. You will have both design and technical skills and a strong eye for detail. A working knowledge of Revit will be an advantage and an interest in passive design and sustainability may also be considered a differentiating factor.

    What you'll need

    • Degree in Landscape Architecture or equivalent experience
    • Working towards successful completion of LI Part IV professional exams and Chartered status
    • Able to communicate effectively in verbal, written and drawn formats using appropriate media for different audiences both internally and externally
    • Technical and scientific understanding
    • Concern for the environment and an understanding of conservation issues
    • Knowledge of the conditions for plants and wildlife to flourish
    • Able to work under own initiative with supervision
    • Able to effectively prepare presentation drawings, take a brief and develop into a concept design
    • Prepare drawings and documents using a variety of software packages, notably AutoCAD, Photoshop, InDesign & Sketch-Up. Revit is an advantage but not a necessity.
    • Able to competently use 2D, 3D AutoCAD Desktop and 3D rendering packages Able to prepare detailed design and working drawings and schedules and prepare specification
    • Has an innovative approach to design, a high level of visualisation skills, an awareness of design styles and new building materials
    • Willingness to develop knowledge and keep up-to-date with current issues through CPD events and technical literature
    • Good understanding of significance of QA procedures and Health & Safety requirements
    • Able to drive and possess a full driving licence
    • Excellent communication skills in terms of written English and command of the English language

    What you'll do 

    • Prepare presentation drawings, take a brief and develop into a concept design with assistance and supervision of Landscape Architect
    • Prepare presentations and feasibility reports
    • Prepare and co-ordinate detail design drawings, working drawings, schedules and specifications (preparing 2D and 3D drawings on CAD for review by Landscape Architect)
    • Use CPI, source technical information, have buildability and value engineering awareness, prepare Health & Safety Risk assessments, carry out and draw measured surveys, implement and work to QA procedures for review by Landscape Architect
    • With some support, co-ordinate with other consultants and liaise with clients and statutory bodies, and disseminate information to other team members as appropriate
    • Deal with client enquiries / complaints efficiently under the direction of the Landscape Architect and advise of difficulties for further direction
    • Accompany Landscape Architect on site visits to carry out basic vegetation surveys noting habitat, soil types and boundary treatments, etc.
    • Administer drawing issues and set up issue sheets
    • Carry out desktop landscape and visual survey and analysis using digital mapping and work alongside Landscape Architect to prepare text and graphics for large scale LVIA work
