    The A320 Family Development Programme Team is in charge of literally leading the development of the A320 Family aircraft, from concept of the change, to leading the large team designing the change and finally leading the team who is manufacturing the change and flying it.

    This is an amazing opportunity for the selected intern to learn a wide range of Airbus disciplines, a plus for her/his CV. It is the only department at Airbus Commercial who sees the aircraft modification from start to finish. The project involved in the department is mainly related to structures, electrical and mechanical system installation as well as systems topics.

    Many of the projects are generated to improve the aircraft, lower its weight, and also update the material used to contribute towards our long term environmental responsibilities.

    The selected candidate will join a fun team eager to train the potential future employees of Airbus.

    What you will be doing

    On a typical day working within A320 Family Development Programme Team you will:

    • Work on projects to improve the aircraft, lower its weight, and also update the material used to contribute towards our long term environmental responsibilities;
    • Train the potential future employees of Airbus;
    • Spend time learning the way Airbus works, increase the Airbus product knowledge and learn soft skills to be an effective leader, along with greater knowledge on business cases;
    • Follow up on the progress of the Engineering and manufacturing workforce on the many projects the department is leading;
    • Learn from the project leader how to efficiently run and conduct a meeting in this industry;
    • The candidate will be traveling to other Airbus sites and suppliers to physically review the project progress;
    • Support troubleshooting of project activities.

    Requirements

    Our placements are open to Undergraduates only. Therefore it is mandatory for candidates to be an undergraduate for the whole duration of the placement. Please inform your graduation date on your application.

    Successful candidates must be able to demonstrate the following:

    • Studying towards a degree in Structures Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, Electrical and/or Electronic Engineering, Technology Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent;
    • Interest in aircraft and passionate about learning;
    • Problem solving mentality and approach to problems;
    • Able to build strong relationships with different stakeholders;
    • Happy to act in a proactive manner to meet personal and team objectives.

    SECURITY CLEARANCE: Eligibility to gain UK SC Security Clearance OR You will be subject to a BPSS check (including a criminal record check).
