We are seeking talented and motivated engineers to join our team in Filton, UK. As an Aerodynamic Data engineer, you will be contributing directly to the manufacturing and in-service support of our entire fleet of current and future aircraft, through the generation and analysis of aerodynamic data.
The role
As part of a highly collaborative and transnational team, you will be working on:
- State of the art computer modelling and simulation
- Defining, attending and analysing results of wind tunnel tests at world leading facilities across the globe
- Defining, attending and analysing results of flight tests, including steering flight test decisions in real-time based on live telemetry data
- Applying data analysis methods to interrogate in-service aircraft data to understand how airlines operate our aircraft, and injecting that learning back into the design process
- Supporting the certification of our aircraft for safety or CO2 emissions
Are you the one?
Experience required
- You hold a bachelor’s degree in Aeronautical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline, with a specialisation in Aerodynamics.
- You have a proven experience of modelling the aerodynamics in CFD, including the suitability and effect of different mesh types and turbulence models, the appropriate use of time-averaged modelling, convergence criteria, and interpreting results
We need someone who has
- Knowledge of aircraft flight operations and performance, for example the factors that influence take off and landing performance, aerodynamic safety limitations, and the flight phases of a commercial aircraft.
- Experience in Python coding (or similar) for data analysis
- You are autonomous, curious, proactive, rigorous, with great attention to detail;
- You are Fluent in English (verbal and written).
Additionally, any of the following would be of benefit for this role
