    We are looking for a highly motivated Aerodynamics Engineer to join our team as we grow to prepare for the next generation of Airbus aircraft. If successful you will be based at the Filton, UK site and report to the head of Aircraft Aerodynamics.

    In Aircraft Aerodynamics, we master the complex aerodynamics of our aircraft to understand how they perform across the entire envelope of their missions. Through the generation and analysis of aerodynamic data, our work has a direct impact on aircraft operations and fuel burn, meaning we play a pivotal role in securing the sustainable aviation of the future.

    With stakeholders ranging from our own Future Projects and R&D departments through to external airline customers operating our aircraft, we see and contribute to the full lifespan of our aircraft, from the conceptual stage through development to in-service operations.

    Tasks & Accountabilities

    • State of the art computer modelling and simulation
    • Defining, attending and analysing results of wind tunnel tests at world leading facilities across the globe
    • Defining, attending and analysing results of flight tests, including steering flight test decisions in real-time based on live telemetry data
    • Applying data analysis methods to interrogate in-service aircraft data to understand how airlines operate our aircraft, and injecting that learning back into the design process
    • Supporting the certification of our aircraft for safety or CO2 emissions

    Skills & Experience

    • Knowledge of aerodynamics, including the factors that influence the generation of aircraft lift and drag
    • Experience in Python coding (or similar) for data analysis
