Every year we look for university graduates from around the world to join Airbus. We need people with the aspiration, enthusiasm and the talent to help us move forward and to change the world and your development through our Airbus Global Graduate Experience. You are part of a 2 year programme where you develop your professional skills, but deliver our vision to pioneer sustainable aerospace for a safe and united world.
When you begin your career with us, we accelerate your networks, locally and internationally, and gain a unique perspective on the world of Airbus. You are part of a global community, so we bring you together once a year for a global graduate conference where you meet your peers, hear from our leaders and learn from the best.
We are hiring the graduates we need to fill the critical roles for our future.
By the end of the programme, our aim is that you are ready to progress, having already demonstrated your value. You will have developed your skills in an area that is strategically important for Airbus, you will know about the Airbus business, the opportunities, challenges and needs, and you will have learned more about yourself, and what makes you great.
Above all you will have the opportunity to do your best work in an industry that is literally reshaping how we live in our world.
Who you will be joining
We are a transnational team of 26 people working across the UK, Spain and Germany which brings a rich and diverse environment to learn and grow. Looking to the future we are actively involved in industrial scoping for the first hydrogen wing (ZEROe), this exciting programme is a technological leap compared to a conventional wing design and the industrial system. The team will lead the way on the Industrial concepts for this important sustainable aircraft of the future. With the aviation market growing, a particular challenge for Airbus is to meet the increased demand for Aircraft. The focus for the architects team is to ensure the Airbus Wing Industrial Systems will deliver the rate (production speed) requirement currently and in the future whilst maintaining the cost targets.
What you will be doing:
During your time in the department you will gain a broad understanding of manufacturing principles, as well as developing some specific technical competencies including:
- How to populate and consider top level industrial requirements (our key needs to create the optimum industrial system)
- Co-design and design for manufacturing (early stage collaboration with the design team to ensure industrial requirements are considered during the design stage)
- ME extended enterprise management (working with the supply chain to integrate end to end industrial systems).
- In this role, you will be able to develop your leadership skills by having the opportunity to negotiate and influence stakeholders in order to gain buy-in and make decisions. You will also develop your project management skills by supporting project planning, risk management, progress control and reporting. If you enjoy taking on a challenge without predefined solutions, taking full accountability of the delivery of projects and learning as part of the process, whilst being at the forefront of aerospace manufacturing then this role could be for you.
- As an Industrial Architect graduate you will have an opportunity to gain experience across the Wing & Tail Plane components. The tasks will be varied and require you to use different skills (technical, leadership and project management) in order to complete them successfully. During your time in the department you may get the opportunity to work on both future development projects (such as ZEROe) as well as current programme developments (such as A321 XLR). You will be expected to show energy, get engaged with the community and build relationships and network.
