    What you will be doing

    You will be on a development pathway to prepare you to be a Graduate Thermal Engineer and can expect to be involved in the following;

    • Under supervision, carry out the thermal activities required to ensure the successful thermal design of space vehicles operating in challenging thermal environments
    • Carry out modeling and simulation using proprietary in-house or commercial codes e.g. SYSTEMA/THERMICA, ESATAN and Hyperworks
    • Carry out thermal model correlation using data obtained from dedicated thermal experiments
    • Broaden your knowledge of the thermal engineering discipline
    • Apply ‘out of the box’ methods and processes
    • Support Research & Development and improvement activities
    • Report and present your findings to internal and external stakeholders
    • Carry out a six months placement in another business domain
    • Grow your network and act as an ambassador of the thermal engineering department
    • With experience, take ownership of the project plans and budgets

    What we look for

    To be a successful applicant to the Airbus Global Graduate Programme, you will need to demonstrate;

    • Educated to a degree level or equivalent within a relevant field of study
    • Maximum of three years relevant work experience
    • Strong verbal and written communication in our business language (English)
    • A desire to work in a collaborative team environment, focused on driving future innovation
    • The ability to be self aware and a wish to be in the driving seat of your development.

    What you will need to apply

    Degree type:

    • Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or Physics

    Specific experience or interests:

    • Experience and understanding of computational modeling and simulation techniques
    • Experience of programming; e.g. FORTRAN, Python, Visual Basic
    • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office, including advanced proficiency in Excel, ideally for the use of analyzing results
    • Good problem solving and team working skills
    • Excellent presentation, written and verbal communication skills
    • An interest in Space is essential
