    Job Specification

    Robotics, Automation and Assembly form the core backbone of all demanding applications in the aerospace industry. Systems are required to cope with complex environments through advanced control to safely accomplish tasks while executing accurately and reliably. The Robotics, Automation and Assembly (OMIR) department’s core activities include the design, development and integration of new automation to achieve high accuracy drilling, clamping, sealing, fastening, painting and inspection systems.

    About the team

    OMIR's mission requires a wide breadth of technical skills, ranging from performing detailed engineering development to interacting with internal customers, and extensive integration with market leading robotics and automation suppliers. We are a team of technical experts based on all major sites who are all passionate about finding technical solutions to support Airbus’ automation journey. We can help you develop technically and personally in the role.

    What you will be doing

    You will be on a development pathway to prepare you to be an Industrial Robotics R&D Engineer and can expect to be involved in the following;

    • Contribute to the functional analysis and collaborative definition of the requirements to propose disruptive robotics and automation solutions.
    • You will build technical expertise to steer development and integration of robotic technologies in aerospace. You will have the opportunity to design, test & integrate prototypes & demonstrators of innovative robotic solutions.
    • This job requires an awareness of any potential compliance risks and a commitment to act with integrity, as the foundation for the Company’s success, reputation and sustainable growth.

    What we look for

    To be a successful applicant to the Airbus Global Graduate Programme, you will need to demonstrate

    • Educated to a degree level or equivalent within a relevant field of study
    • Maximum of three years relevant work experience
    • Strong verbal and written communication in our business language (English)
    • A desire to work in a collaborative team environment, focused on driving future innovation
    • The ability to be self aware and a wish to be in the driving seat of your development.
