In this particular role, the successful candidate will be working as part of the Delivery team of the in service support contract for the RAF A400M fleet at Brize Norton. This provides an excellent opportunity to be exposed to one of the more valuable Airbus Military Customers, our product.
The role sits within the Airbus Support Center UK Business Operations department, which includes Media, Corporate and Internal Communications, Marketing and Business Development. If successful you will work for the Head of the Support Center, but may also have input into the Head of Business Management department. We provide 24/7 service and the role is varied and often requires high levels of flexibility and multitasking in an ever changing, unusual and exciting environment.
What you will be doing
During this internship, the activities you may undertake will include:
- Procurement - supporting the Procurement team in the creation of the purchase orders, contact with suppliers, KPIs, monitoring orders, etc;
- Merchandising and Marketing – identifying new and exciting ways to promote the ATLAS brand through publicity and merchandising;
- Customer / internal engagement – conducting face to face meetings with customers and internal staff, potentially leading on some projects and visits (e.g., Airshows, High level visits to military sites);
- Corporate Hospitality – assisting with organising high profile corporate events;
- Project & Event Management – managing smaller internal events and projects, taking responsibility for outcomes, budgets, timescales etc;
- Corporate and Internal Communications – finding new ways to ensure that information reaches target audiences and the A400M Atlas Force achievements are recognised. Coordination with the central Airbus Defence and Space comms team. Generate the monthly newsletter collecting the articles from the different departments and publish it in the Airbus portal;
- Administrative tasks – for example preparation of status reports, minutes of meeting, coordination of agendas;
- Opportunity to lead some of our improvement projects the candidate will act as Project lead of a multifunctional team.

Requirements
Our placements are open to Undergraduates only. Therefore it is mandatory for candidates to be an undergraduate for the whole duration of the placement. Please inform your graduation date on your application. Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate the following:
- Studying a degree towards Media and Communications/Business Management/Procurement;
- Knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint, Word and Excel is advantageous;
- You must be confident, proactive and self-motivating and able to work with minimal supervision;
- Good personal communication skills, both spoken and written, are essential.
